Interest in Denmark star is unlikely to develop into summer signing

- By LIAM RANDALL

Wrexham have made a bold move to sign Christian Eriksen following his departure from Manchester United.

The Red Dragons, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are keen to make their mark in the transfer market after achieving promotion to the Championship in April.

Manager Phil Parkinson has already welcomed six new players this summer, including Plymouth striker Ryan Hardie, Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward and Empoli left-back Liberato Cacace.

The club's transfer activity has notably accelerated this week with the signings of Bolton captain George Thomason, former Sheffield Wednesday forward Josh Windass and Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O'Brien.

Reports now suggest that Wrexham have also approached Eriksen, who parted ways with United this summer.

The midfielder, whose career includes stints at Ajax, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Brentford, boasts an impressive CV.
