Bakery planning to open 40 more shops

BAKERY chain Gail's is planning to open 40 new outlets, having created nearly 500 jobs during its most recent fiscal year.

The firm, headquartered in London, said all new locations will be operational by February 28 with similar expansion plans “going forward”.

The growth follows the opening of 36 new sites in the financial year ending February 2025 and an increase in its workforce to more than 4,000 people.

Recently submitted accounts to Companies House reveal that the chain's revenue increased from £231.7m to £278m in the 12 months leading up to February 28, 2025.
