All traces removed of beach graffiti

“MINDLESS and idiotic” graffiti has been removed from a small but popular beach cove on Anglesey.

When three words appeared on cliffs near Porth Swtan (Church Bay), local people erupted in fury over the desecration of a much-loved place.

The words were sprayed in large letters at Porth y Santes, which translates as “Gate of the Saints”.

As the cove lies on Anglesey’s Heritage Coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the vandalism was labelled “heartbreaking”.

No one was quite sure what the words meant though local sleuths had a stab at interpreting them. “Uzbek”, “Diyor” and “Shox” were thought to be some kind of political sloganeering or just a homesick note to a place left behind.
