Airlift for walker with broken spine in 20ft plunge as wife waits
Daily Post
|September 22, 2025
A WALKER suffered a fractured spine in a fall from a mountain in Eryri National Park (Snowdonia).
He was airlifted from Moel Hebog, a 2,569ft peak near Beddgelert, to avoid a painful stretcher trip down steep terrain.
The man took a tumble of around 20ft when climbing down from the summit. As well as experiencing lower back pain, he sustained a head wound.
His head was bandaged by two passing walkers who were well equipped and had first aid skills. The pair helped him some way down the mountain where his wife was waiting for him.
