Airlift for cyclist taken ill in woods

THE Wales Air Ambulance landed at a North Wales attraction after a cyclist suffered a medical episode.

The biker - Steven - was riding at the popular Coed y Brenin tracks, situated between Trawsfynydd and Dolgellau.

He felt unwell in what turned out to be a suspected heart attack.

He took a rest but as his condition wasn't improving he called for mountain rescue due to his position in the woods.

The South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team responded to the incident on Saturday afternoon.

On arrival the casualty was "very unwell" with dangerously low oxygen levels.
