Tinkler downplays Broos praise for Sekhukhune
Daily News
|September 01, 2025
SEKHUKHUNE United coach Eric Tinkler has downplayed the praise his team received from Bafana Bafana counterpart Hugo Broos, insisting there is still room for improvement from his troops.
Sekhukhune went into the FIFA break at the top of the Betway Premiership with 13 points, after winning four games and drawing one. It's been a strong start to the season, as Sekhukhune aim to improve on their fourth-place finish last term.
Things could have been even better had they not lost to Stellenbosch in the MTN8 semifinal.
Despite that minor setback, their performances have not gone unnoticed, with Broos lauding them as the team playing the best football in the top flight this season. Tinkler, however, disagreed.
