1.3 million holidaymakers expected, but are Durban's beaches ready and safe to use?

DURBAN is fully prepared to welcome 1.3 million visitors this festive season, with swimming facilities along the beachfront now ready and operational, according to the eThekwini Municipality

The city has completed maintenance and refilling of all swimming pools along the promenade, including the Children's Amusement Centre pool, South Beach paddling pool and Laguna swimming pool, in ensuring a safe environment for bathers.

Repairs have also been finalised at two facilities in Ilovu and Asherville, which facilitates their reopening after suffering extensive damage.
