US-Iran talks offer slim hope

TALKS will begin in Geneva today aimed at preventing a ferocious war against Iran, which US forces say will last for many weeks.

Should negotiations fail, the likely targets would be Tehran's enriched uranium stocks, military installations, and even major regime figures.

Sources suggest the confrontation could begin with limited US strikes, with possible escalation if or when the regime responds with attacks on Israel or the American fleet.

A major target would also likely be Iran's shadowy Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and training facilities.
