Powerful MP demands action on testing babies for awful muscle-wasting disease

THE chairwoman of a powerful MPs' committee has backed our campaign to get all babies tested for a muscle-wasting disease.

Layla Moran MP, who chairs the Health and Social Care Committee, has written to the Health Secretary asking why a £5 spinal muscular atrophy check is still not part of the NHS newborn heel prick test.
