We are ready to deal

VOLODYMYR Zelensky said he is ready to negotiate with Donald Trump again after the US President pulled military aid from war-torn Ukraine.

The embattled leader also revealed the rare minerals deal his American counterpart is seeking in exchange for help back on the table.

His move will be seen as a victory for Mr Trump's bullying demands during the White House chat with Mr Zelensky in which he launched an embarrassing tirade against him.

imageThe US President was accused of siding with Russia by axing military aid to Ukraine, in a development many fear will cost thousands more lives.

Backed into a corner but displaying a maturity Mr Trump lacks, Mr Zelensky said: "Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to.

"It is regrettable. It is time to make things right. We would like co-operation and communication to be constructive.

image"None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians. I stand ready to work under President Trump's strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.
