Train journey tracking app to transform ticket system

A PAY-as-you-go rail ticketing system that can track passengers will begin trials today.
Selected travellers on East Midlands Railway will be able to check in and out of journeys with an app on their mobile.
This will track their trips using GPS and automatically charge them for use at the end of the day.
