'Superhuman' AI spots heart risk

ARTIFICIAL intelligence that can predict the risk of disease and early death is set to be tested by the NHS.

Hospital trials will begin next year and it is hoped the model will be rolled out across the health service by 2030.

The "superhuman" technology analyses the results of a cheap, common heart test and can alert doctors to any potential issues.

From the middle of next year, trials will take place at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, with other sites to be confirmed soon.
