Firth: Saudi struggles will help old boss revive Rangers' season

- BY ANDY NEWPORT

ANDY FIRTH has seen Steven Gerrard at the height of his powers - and at his lowest ebb.

But the former Ibrox goalkeeper believes he is the perfect man to pick Rangers off the floor.

Former Liverpool youngster Firth joined Gerrard in Glasgow in 2019 to act as backup for Allan McGregor.

While he only ever played one game for the Light Blues, Firth became a cult figure for supporters after expressing his love for his adopted club.

His relationship with Gerrard continued when he followed the ex-England skipper to Saudi Arabia to become part of his backroom team at Al-Ettifaq.
