The last trophy won by Spurs was the League Cup in 2008 under Juande Ramos. Their last European title was the UEFA Cup in 1984.

Against that backdrop, captain Son has vowed to end the club's 17-year wait for silverware, declaring: "I hope we can make it a historic day that I will never forget.

"It would be very special and would be a historic moment. I've been here 10 years and I just want to win a trophy, which no one has done in that time.

"So it's going to be a massive day for me, for all the players, the club and the fans.
