Raise income tax.. without lowering pay

A TWEAK to income tax and national insurance could make the Treasury £6billion without affecting wages, a think-tank claims.

The Resolution Foundation says the income could be generated by putting income tax up 2p while cutting national insurance by the same amount.

The net gain would arise because more people pay income tax than NI.
