Fans made to sweat as Newcastle lose but still qualify for Champions League

EDDIE HOWE last night relived the 11-minute nightmare when he feared Newcastle had blown their Champions League hopes.

After Carlos Alcaraz had headed Everton into a second-half lead at St James' Park and Aston Villa were still level with Manchester United, Newcastle had slipped into sixth place.

And Howe (circle) thought the Magpies' campaign was set to end in disappointment.
