ASHA Alahan is set to reach her breaking point in a new Coronation Street episode as viewers follow the teen on a harrowing shift as a paramedic.

The hour-long special will focus on Asha's pressures as a trainee in the job, with ITV saying that the episode explores “the hidden stresses and strains beneath her seemingly calm exterior”.

The second half of the episode will be told from Asha's perspective, with the teen, played by Tanisha Gorey, flashing back to a day at work that “pushes her to breaking point”.

Viewers will follow her during a shift that includes a harrowing racist attack, and where she witnesses a death and treats an injured elderly resident.
