More spending cash.. but it's small change

THE Budget will lead to an increase in spending money, a think-tank says, but a dismally small one.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies' analysis shows average disposable incomes growing by just 0.5% a year during this parliament.

IFS Director Helen Miller said: "This is truly dismal, especially when compared to the more than 2% per year we achieved across every parliament from the mid-1980s to mid-2000s."

The IFS did find some praiseworthy points in Rachel Reeves' second Budget.
