'Cut exposure' to danger particles

TINY pieces of plastic consumed by humans and found in our guts have been linked to depression.

People are exposed daily to microplastics, which are less than 5mm, and have been found in fish, salt and bottled and tap water. Researchers have studied how commonly found microplastics interact with the human gut microbiome.

The gut microbiome, called the “second brain” by scientists, contains trillions of microorganisms including good and bad bacteria.
