HAVE we all been there or is it just me? So enjoyable was my family time away on holiday over the past week, I got up in the night back at home and, in my darkened room, I walked into the wall.

- DARREN LEWIS

Let's step away from cesspit of social media

I'd completely forgotten the layout of my own bedroom and ended up with a sore head. Sympathy was in short supply from Mrs L who couldn't stop laughing the next day. My kids too. It is hard to overstate the importance of being able to smile in these perilous times.

Of appreciating our loved ones, our friends, our acquaintances and our workmates who, away from the cesspit of social media, are good people.

The world's future lies in cyberspace.

Decisions are made, opinions are formed and battle lines are drawn, increasingly, on the basis of social media opinion.

It will likely impact the identity of the next US President in November.

So despite just a fraction of the UK's 67million population being on X, it is harder than ever to ignore the growing influence of likes, retweets and inflammatory takes.
