Lengthy waits fall and more are being treated

NHS waits of more than 12 months are down by over a third in the past year.

New data for England shows that in July, 192,000 patients had been waiting more than 12 months to be seen - down from 290,000 in July 2024.

More people are coming forward needing appointments and operations, with the number of new joiners to the waiting list up 5% on July 2024.
