Heavy rain 'relief' after sizzlers

THE end of summer is going to be a washout - but some people will be relieved as the heat has impacted their health and their wallets.

This summer's four heatwaves left millions of people losing sleep, paying higher bills and getting poorly in homes not built to cope with rising temperatures, Citizens Advice found.

Almost half of people (47%) reported difficulty sleeping as temperatures climbed above 30C.
