Jack has decided it's best for us to separate...and accept his decision

ACTRESS Martine McCutcheon revealed her husband Jack McManus has ended their marriage after almost two decades together.

The former EastEnders star said she accepted the decision of the singer-songwriter to finish their relationship.

Just weeks ago, she lavished him with praise as he turned 40 while grieving the recent death of his father Mick.

Martine told how the couple's main priority will continue to be their son.

imageShe added: "After much thought and consideration, Jack has decided it's best for us to separate after 18 years together and I accept his decision.

"We are both so very blessed and grateful for our beautiful, nine-year-old son Rafferty, whose happiness and welfare has always been, and will continue to be, our number one priority.

"We both still cherish and look forward to being parents together to our wonderful boy for the rest of our lives."

SECURE

Martine added: "Our love for Rafferty is something that will never waver or change and we obviously want to protect him and help him feel as safe and secure as possible."

The film star and singer, 48, said the decision to break up has evolved over time and the couple are still "finding our new way forward as a family".

She asked for privacy at this "difficult time".

Martine said she sent Jack, who had appeared alongside her on Celebrity Gogglebox, "all the love, luck and happiness for the next chapter of his life".

She also thanked her online followers, writing: "Thank you all for the love and support, now and always... Martine xx."
