LILY Allen says she is proud of the way her two children dealt with her marital breakdown being played out in the spotlight.

The singer, 40, served up one of the most astonishing insights ever into a broken relationship with her new album West End Girl.

She said daughters Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 12, had endured the heartache with her, as her four-year marriage to Stranger Things actor David Harbour, 50, collapsed.

She revealed her album was conceived in desperation as a diary of her relationship hell - which may not have been released.
