Mum recalls shock as baby died in hospital

A MUM has spoken about the devastating moment she saw her baby girl die after being harmed by evil nurse Lucy Letby.

Speaking for the first time about baby Zoe's death, she revealed she watched helplessly as doctors desperately tried to save her daughter.

Letby, 36, is serving life in jail after she was convicted of murdering seven infants and attempting to murder seven others between June 2015 and June 2016.

The mum said: "My husband and I just broke down. We were just saying, 'what's going on?'. I was just so angry and so sad and so confused."

A new Netflix documentary, The Investigation of Lucy Letby, tells how Zoe - not her real name - was born on June 20, 2015, but died two days later.

Her mum had gone to the Countess of Chester Hospital where Letby worked after her waters broke three weeks early. After a 60-hour labour she insisted on a Caesarean, but the baby was rushed to intensive care.
