Girls Aloud's Nadine on finding out her bandmate had terminal cancer

- DANIEL BIRD

I couldn't believe Sarah would die

GIRLS Aloud star Nadine Coyle said it felt completely unreal when she was told her bandmate Sarah Harding had terminal cancer and months to live.

Sarah died in September 2021 aged just 39, a year after going public with her diagnosis.

Now Nadine has opened up about her own reaction when she found out it would be her friend's last Christmas. She said: "I was like what do you mean? There's no way that can be real. It's so huge. Unfathomable. Just no.

"I'm just going to refuse to believe that that's just part of it. Just don't believe them. Maybe it's all some sort of big sick joke. Maybe we're dreaming, you know?"
