Heroes who raced to help recall horror

A HERO Liverpool fan crawled into the back of Paul Doyle's car and forced it to stop.

Dan Barr, 41, was celebrating at the victory parade on May 26 when Doyle deliberately drove his Ford Galaxy into a sea of people.

Former Royal Engineer Dan was taking photos of the crowds, thinking "this is ace" when he saw the car hurtling down the road.

He said: "I knew we were on for trouble, but you couldn't work out what it was, confusion, aggro, terrorism, or whatever, all sorts."

As Doyle's car passed Dan instinctively ran towards it: "I just remember seeing an opportunity. My intention was to punch the window through. Just at the final moment I tried the door and it opened. I crawled inside."
