HEAVY rain and wind will batter the UK today as forecasters issue several weather warnings.

The Met Office has put out a yellow warning for high winds from Hampshire to Cornwall and up to North Wales from 10pm today until 4pm tomorrow.

There could be disruption to transport with high-sided vehicles delayed on exposed routes and bridges, and coastal areas could be affected by spray and large waves.
