Education key factor in political preference

THE factor that most separates left and right-wingers is education, a study says.

People with qualifications below A-level are more than twice as likely to support the Conservatives or Reform UK as those with higher levels of learning, a report by the National Centre for Social Research reveals.

It also found 55% of people with below A-level qualifications think immigrants living here without permission should not be allowed to stay.

Only 36% of degree-holders share that view.
