LAST time we saw Michael Palin he was hurtling down a notoriously dangerous road in Nigeria's bandit country.

Now the 82-year-old travel icon is in Caracas, the city once dubbed "the deadliest in the world". No relaxed retirement to see here.

The filmmaker has admitted that he doesn't usually get frightened on his travels, but he has been confronted with many perilous situations in his time.
