Town hall bill is one of our key finance worries

COUNCIL tax is among people's biggest money worries, with more than 12 million fearful of missing a payment soon.

A report from debt charity Step-Change found it ranked behind only energy bills in terms of the most commonly missed payment.

But unlike utility firms and banks, the charity says, local authorities are often much more aggressive in chasing debts - even sending in bailiffs.
