HMRC. Chelsea are not expecting a major sanction, such as a points deduction, and hope to instead get away with a resolution similar to their UEFA settlement from a few months ago, when they were fined £26.7million for breaching UEFA's football earnings rule.

In a statement yesterday the club said: “Chelsea FC is pleased to confirm that its engagement with the FA concerning matters that were self-reported by the club is now reaching a conclusion.
