Prince starts renovating his tired mansion as eviction is threatened

PRINCE Andrew is trying to stave off eviction from his royal mansion by having renovation work done.

The Duke of York, seen riding with a female companion yesterday, is responsible for maintaining the 30-room Royal Lodge, where he lives with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, 64, due to a 75-year lease he signed in 2003.

But he has in recent years struggled to meet his obligations, which include repainting the outside every five years and redecorating inside every seven.
