Bake Off paid well but was so boring

Former host Sandi on her appetite for adventure

SANDI Toksvig says she found The Great British Bake Off lucrative but boring, and her new shows are anything but dull.

Instead of standing in a tent watching meringue dry, the former host is visiting some of the world's most beautiful and spectacular destinations.

In The Great Riveria Rail Trip, Sandi explores the French coast beloved by stars such as Elton John and Brad Pitt.

The four-part Channel 4 series, made by Cornelia Street Productions, takes viewers on one of the world's most glamorous train journeys from Marseille to the Italian border via Monaco, Cannes and Saint-Tropez.

Along the way, she uncovers stories of the kings, queens, artists and celebrities who transformed the Cote d'Azur into a renowned beauty spot.
