A charming chief bean counter

MARK Carney and Donald Trump seem like chalk and cheese. One is a suave former central banker who has, until now, chosen his words carefully. The other is a brash businessman who says exactly what he thinks.

But they do have a couple of things in common. Both were political novices before achieving high office and each has been on TV shows. Mr Trump hosted The Apprentice in the US and Mr Carney appeared with his high school team in a University Challenge-style TV quiz in 1982.
