£29M BILL TO FIX OUR CRUMBLING MUSEUMS

SOME of the nation's biggest museums have spent £29million on repairs over the past three years, with taxpayers helping to foot the bill.

London's Victoria and Albert, Tate Galleries and Imperial War Museum had to fork out the sum to keep their buildings safe for visitors.

The V&A spent £8.8m on new toilets and other improvements between 2022 and 2024. Furniture and building work cost the Imperial War Museum more than £16m.
