£2.1m for smartest timepiece ever made

A POCKET watch which took four years to make has smashed a world record after fetching £2.1million at auction.

The timepiece is hailed as one of the world's most complicated vintage pocket watches ever made.

The antique was crafted in 1907 by Joseph Player, a celebrated watch maker from Coventry.

It has moon phases dials which show the different positions of the planet exactly how it appears in the sky at that moment. There is also an alarm and thermometer.
