The opening day of the Prima Sunrise Junior Open Golf Championship teed off at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club saw youngster Reshan Algama in sparkling form carding a fine 69 gross score yesterday.
Algama was in good form on the greens while Janeesh Weerasinghe and Adithya Weerasinghe were tied on second place with an identical score of 72 each.
The tournament is propped up by Prima Sunrise for the 17th consecutive year.
The Gold Division and Silver Division Girls (15-18 plus) saw India's Asara Sawhney set the pace with a steady 79, demonstrating excellent control around the course.
