A field trial of a novel small-sized loop, designed for implantation into the uterus of female monkeys to effectively prevent pregnancy, will commence in September at the T/C mango plantation in Kalawewa, Peradeniya University Veterinary Faculty Senior Professor Ashoka Dangolla said.

He told the Daily Mirror that following the initial announcement about the first loop type for implantation in female monkeys, a different loop type was tested experimentally, achieving a success rate of 60 per cent.
