Insurance Association highlights importance of safety during festive and holiday season

AS the festive and holiday season is here, the Insurance Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) yesterday urged the public to remain vigilant and prioritise safety while embracing the spirit of celebration. This special time of year brings families and communities together, marked by joy, tradition, and travel. However, it also presents a higher risk of accidents, injuries, and other unforeseen events that can dampen the festive cheer if precautions are not taken.

During this season, a notable increase in road traffic is expected, with many individuals and families travelling to visit loved ones or enjoy time away. IASL encourages all road users to be extra cautious — whether driving long distances, using public transport, or navigating through busy urban areas. Road safety should never be compromised. Adhering to traffic regulations, avoiding fatigue, and maintaining vehicle roadworthiness are essential steps in ensuring a safe journey for everyone.
