Benedictines revel at Ritzbury Relay Carnival

ATHLETES of St. Benedict's College came up with a sterling performance at the glamour event of the Schools Athletics Calendar, the Ritzbury Schools Athletics Relay Championship held at the Diyagama Stadium from 9 to 11 April. They performed brilliantly in all age groups, emerging Champions in Under-12, Under-14 and Under-20 segments, Runners Up in Under-18 and 2nd Runners up in Under-16.

Benedictines took an early lead winning the very first event of the meet, the long distance medley and maintained their lead right throughout, eventually winning the Championship with a hefty margin of 59 points. Maris Stella College, Negombo came in second and St. Joseph Vaz College were placed third. This margin of victory clearly showed the dominance of Benedictines in Relays, which has always been their forte.
