Women in fear as taxpayer-funded migrant hotels are being used 'as brothels'

TAXPAYER-funded migrant hotels are being used as brothels while some women resident there have been sexually harassed, MPs were told.

Some staying in one in London hotel were "engaged in prostitution", the British Red Cross said.

Men had travelled to the hotel specifically to pay for sex while others were either staying or working there, the charity added.

It will prompt renewed anger over the use of hotels for asylum seekers - and the safety of some of those staying in them.

When concerns were raised over the safety of the women, the accommodation provider - which the Red Cross did not name - "indicated that they were unable to intervene where consenting adults were having sex".
