Widow of loo death worker sues for £200k
Daily Express
|October 29, 2025
THE widow of a worker crushed by a falling popup toilet in London’s West End is suing his bosses for more than £200,000.
Kevin Holding, 60, was climbing into an inspection chamber below the loo in Shaftesbury Avenue when the urinal “suddenly and without warning dropped and fell on to him”.
The cutting-edge toilet, manufactured by Dutch company Urilift, is designed to be lowered below ground during the day then raised by hydraulic power for use by revellers at night.
Mr Holding, of Elmers End, southeast London, died from “catastrophic” injures caused by the impact, documents lodged at London’s High Court stated.
