Why did you abandon us? Wife's letter ignored for 300 years in Royal Navy vault

A WOMAN'S letter berating the husband who ran off leaving her with their kids has emerged in a trove of curios found in the Royal Navy's cellars.
Woebegone Francisca Munoz detailed her life of poverty, poor health and the tragic death of a grandson in her dispatch from Spain to runaway Miguel Atocha, who flitted to Mexico.
But her catalogue of misery - dated January 22, 1747 never reached him because the ship it was sent on was seized by legal British pirates in the pay of the Royal Family.
Today the letter is made public for the first time by the National Archives after being stored in the Royal Navy's vaults.
