Wedding eve tragedy of mother killed by hotelier

A HOTEL owner who ran over the mother of a bride-to-be on the eve of the wedding only became aware of the tragedy when he heard a “terrible noise” from under his car, a jury was told yesterday

Judith Wadsworth, 66, died after a Range Rover driven by Nicholas Bannister hit her in the hotel grounds.

He told police in an interview shortly afterwards that he had got into his car outside the hotel to drive to the nearby spa for a run.

Driving at 9-12mph, he had turned from the short road from the main entrance on to an access road through the estate of the Coniston Hotel and Spa near Skipton, North Yorkshire.
