Waspi women in fresh bid for pension compensation

WASPI women have launched a legal challenge against the Government after it rejected calls to pay them billions of pounds in compensation.

Members of the Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) group protested outside the Royal Courts of Justice yesterday as they sought a judicial review to force Labour to reconsider its decision.

The party ruled out a compensation package for women affected by the way changes to the state pension age were communicated — despite supporting the move while in Opposition.
