Ukrainian refugee loses parents and siblings in crashes

A TEENAGE Ukrainian refugee has been orphaned after both her parents and her two siblings were killed in car crashes.

Daria Bartienieva and two of her children died in a head-on smash with a double decker bus in North Yorkshire, six months after her husband was killed in a crash in their homeland where he had stayed to fight Russian invaders.

Eldest child Liza, 16, was not in her mum's car on Sunday.

She is said to be staying on with the British family who had given them a home.

As well as her mother and father she has lost her sister Anastasiia, 15, and brother Ihor, six, a pupil at Holy Trinity School in Ripon.
