As America prepares to vote on Tuesday, the ex-President, 78, told a crowd in Atlanta, in the crucial swing state of Georgia: "I'm not a Nazi." In a swipe at rival Kamala Harris and others, he called the claims "disgusting and just horrible".

He said: "The newest line from Kamala and her campaign is that everyone who isn't voting for her is a Nazi." Following an anecdote about how his father told him to avoid saying Hitler or Nazi, he said: "They say, 'He's Hitler' and then they say, 'He's a Nazi'.
