Typical home sells for record £299,331

THE average house price hit a £299,331 record high in August following three month-on-month rises.

Halifax says the typical UK home grew by 0.3% month on month, following increases of 0.4% in July and 0.1% in June.

But the annual pace slowed to 2.2%, down from 2.5% in July and 2.7% in June.
