Tycoon 'planned to probe potential Letby miscarriage of justice'
Daily Express
|August 26, 2024
BRITISH tech tycoon Mike Lynch planned to investigate whether nurse Lucy Letby's murder convictions were a miscarriage of justice, a senior MP has revealed.
Sir David Davis said Mr Lynch, who died along with six others in the superyacht disaster off Sicily last week, "saw straight through the statistical weaknesses that underpinned the Letby prosecution".
The Conservative MP and the businessman had been due to meet last Thursday.
Mr Lynch was acquitted of fraud in a US trial before he died and planned to set up a non-profit group fighting on behalf of people suffering miscarriages of justice.
Letby was jailed for life after being convicted of the murders of seven babies and the attempted murders of six others at the of Countess Chester Hospital.
